Work from home
During Covid-19 people have been furloughed and at home, others are working from home and having to fit home working into their daily domestic life. Even after the pandemic it is estimated that the number of people home working will increase dramatically.
While the experience of working at home during the crisis may not have been ideal for some people, it has given people a taste of what could be (more flexible working, reduced travel, better use of technology making people be more efficient, less meetings, better trust between managers and staff).
Global Workforce Analytics estimates that working from home half the week can reduce emissions by 54 million tons every year.
A lot of ways of work will change post-pandemic and this gives society a chance to think about how these changes can maybe help the planet too.
